Chapter 28 – The first secondary Spirit Material

In the crowd, the Peak Lords and Elders from the other peaks exchanged quick glances, surprise and shock flashing in their eyes.

On one hand, they were surprised that Heavenly Unique Peak had only sent thirty-five disciples to participate in the trial.

On the other hand, they were shocked by the strength of these thirty-five individuals. Each one was at the sixth level of the Qi Refining stage, exuding a fierce aura that was anything but ordinary.

Fu Boren's gaze shifted to the elder, and he cupped his hands with a smile, "Great Elder, why are you here this time? Where is the Sect Master?"

The Great Elder gently stroked his beard and replied with a calm smile, "The Sect Master is in seclusion, preparing to break through to the next realm. I will be presiding over this newcomer trial."

With that, he waved his large hand, and a thick wave of True Essence emanated from his body.

As the True Essence swept across, starting from the center of the valley, everyone felt a massive force akin to surging waves.

In an instant, everyone stepped back.

In the blink of an eye, a hundred-meter diameter clearing appeared in the middle of the valley.

"Peak Lords, please lend me a hand!" the Great Elder shouted.

From the crowd, six figures soared into the sky, each channeling their True Essence towards the clearing.

The multicolored True Essence interwove and transformed over the clearing.

Soon, the ground trembled, and a massive circular formation emerged on the clearing.

As soon as the formation appeared, it released an ancient and primordial aura. Spiritual power permeated it, weaving into an enormous and complex formation pattern.

Standing in the crowd, Su Shi'er glanced at it curiously, feeling dizzy and as if his head would explode.

Yet, he noticed that the formation pattern was almost identical to the teleportation talisman in his storage bag.

Clearly, this was the teleportation array leading to the ancient restricted area.

"The formation is activated. All disciples, follow the order and enter the teleportation array to proceed to the trial grounds."

Above the teleportation array, the Great Elder's beard quivered as he shouted loudly.

Immediately, everyone present was invigorated, exchanging glances; some hesitated, while others were resolute.

But soon, they all walked towards the formation. As soon as they stepped into the formation, they transformed into beams of white light and vanished.

Blending into the crowd, Su Shi'er stepped into the formation and felt a blinding light flash before him, making him feel weightless, as if he had no support in any direction.

This sensation lasted only a moment.

"Thud!"

Next, Su Shi'er landed in a dense forest.

The moment he landed, he had two attack and defense talismans in his hand.

As his vision gradually cleared, he quickly surveyed his surroundings, seeing only towering trees dozens of meters high.

No other figures were in sight.

"What dense spiritual energy! Is this the ancient restricted area? Cultivating here would at least double the speed."

"Unfortunately, this trial only lasts ninety days. Otherwise, cultivating here would be a great choice!"

"However, it seems like the teleportation was random. Not forming a team was indeed the right choice."

After quickly observing the surroundings and sensing the dense spiritual energy in the air, Su Shi'er thought to himself.

Confirming that his location was temporarily safe, he didn't rush to explore. Instead, he found a nearby large tree, climbed it in a few moves, and took out the comprehensive material guide issued by the sect, beginning to study it carefully.

To do a good job, one must first sharpen their tools. Since he needed to search for materials, he felt it necessary to understand the materials first.

Su Shi'er wasn't the only one with this thought.

Upon landing, many disciples also chose to hide and study the material guide issued by the sect.

However, even more disciples chose to search for materials directly, or to search while reading.

After all, for most spirit materials, the more precious they were, the more abundant the spiritual power they contained.

With tens of thousands of disciples, their reactions and styles varied greatly.

As the activities of a large number of disciples unfolded, soon many disciples began to encounter each other, leading to friction and conflict.

Su Shi'er was completely unaware of all this.

It took him two full days to memorize all the information about spirit materials from the material guide. Only then did he jump down from the tree and choose a direction to walk in.

An hour later.

The temperature became damp and cold, and the air was filled with dense water spiritual energy.

"What dense water spiritual energy! Could there be a water-attributed treasure?"

Su Shi'er took a deep breath, muttering softly, then activated the Heavenly Eye to survey his surroundings.

The Heavenly Eye, besides detecting invisibility and concealing aura, could also reveal the flow and dispersion of spiritual energy.

Often, cultivators used it for treasure hunting.

Quickly scanning the area, Su Shi'er's pupils contracted, and his spirit was invigorated.

Under the Heavenly Eye, he could clearly see that the dense water spiritual energy was emanating from a single distant location, which was highly unusual.

"Could there be water-attributed materials or treasures?"

Su Shi'er discreetly surveyed the surroundings, seeing no other movements, and cautiously approached the source of the water spiritual energy.

In just a moment, a lake appeared before him, with a shallow shore where a pale blue Xuanqing Ice Lotus was in full bloom.

"Hmm? This... is a second-grade high-grade spirit plant, Xuanqing Ice Lotus!"

Su Shi'er showed a look of joy, having memorized the material guide, he recognized the spirit plant at a glance.

Gazing at the second-grade spirit plant before him, Su Shi'er didn't rush to pick it but instead looked towards the lake behind it.

"If I remember correctly, the Xuanqing Ice Lotus is accompanied by a demonic beast called the Poison Arrow Frog."

"This demonic beast isn't strong, just a low-level demonic beast. But it has the advantage of numbers and is extremely treacherous in its attacks."

Recalling the relevant information, Su Shi'er glanced over the area and then focused on a spot in the center of the lake where small bubbles were rising.

With a wave of his hand, two beast-skin fireball talismans appeared in his palm. He was about to activate them but hesitated and instead took out two freezing talismans.

"Low-level demonic beasts aren't worth much, and the fireball talismans make too much noise, which could attract others."

Thinking to himself, he channeled his True Essence into the freezing talismans.

The next second, two icy blue lights streaked across, landing on the lake's surface.

The air temperature gradually dropped. In less than the time it takes for a stick of incense to burn, a half-foot thick layer of ice formed on the lake's surface.

Seeing this, Su Shi'er finally stepped forward to pick the Xuanqing Ice Lotus.

Just then, a voice suddenly came from behind him.

"Stop! That spirit plant belongs to Heavenly Splendor Peak!"

Su Shi'er's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly turned to look behind him with caution.

He saw a young man with sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes walking over arrogantly.

The young man wore a disciple's robe with the Heavenly Splendor Peak emblem embroidered on it, and a fiery red headband tied in his hair. On his back was a fiery red longsword.

"Fifth level of the Qi Refining stage?" Seeing the other's cultivation level, Su Shi'er's heart trembled, and he became fully alert.
